REA Card GmbH and REA Mobile AG at the Wincor World 2007

At one of the most important trade fairs for the banking and trade industry, REA Card GmbH and REA Mobile AG exhibited, jointly with Wincor Nixdorf International GmbH, the procedure of paying at a standard cashdesk using a newly developed mobile wallet. The communication between the REA terminal and the Wincor Nixdorf cashdesk was effected via an O.P.I (Open Payment Interface).

It is based on the Java program (»rea-dy client«) developed by REA Mobile AG for the cell phone. Apart from being able to pay at a cash desk you can use it to collect cash from an ATM and to use the electronic customer cards and bonus programs with the cell phone. The safe transactions are carried out with the help of dynamically generated and time-limited codes (»rea-dy« technology patent).

»According to current studies there is a great willingness to pay with the cell phone in Germany, however lacking standards at acceptance point and customer unfriendly and unsafe technologies build up great obstacles for the user. The connection of simple cell phone programs and the known operations to existing cashdesk solutions are surely an important step in the right direction for retailers and consumers« said Dietmar Neidig, Board Member of REA Mobile AG in connection with the current market development in this segment.
