Erfurt, 2008 REA Card at the greatest culinary show in the world The IKA/Olympics for chefs de cuisine was staged in Erfurt from 19 to 22 October in the scope of the inoga. Rea Card, together with its system partner Casio, was represented in the very centre of the greatest cooking event in the world.
Over 1500 chefs from more than 50 nations took on the challenge this year in Erfurt. They competed for the title with culinary delicacies. In various disciplines the aim was for the team to compete with international colleagues. The participants had to prepare up to 150 three-course menus, or parts thereof, live and in a set time.
There were vitreous kitchens, competition restaurants and platters on show – and not least international cuisine of the very best which could be admired by the visitors in all three halls. Participants just as visitors were enthralled by the "Olympic" atmosphere of the event.
With its history of over 100 years the IKA/ Olympics of the chefs counts among the most significant events for chefs from all over the world. The inoga, specialist fair for industries in the hospitality sector, has been hosting the Culinary Olympics for three years now.
This time all the cash desks of the inoga were fitted with ec terminals of REA Card and, in co-operation with the cash registers of Casio, they made sure that the payment procedure for the visitors and exhibitors operated without a hitch. |
