REA T3 – three different channels, one target

All the developments in the area of noncash payment systems have been pursuing the target of combining the greatest security with a maximum of flexibility in noncash payments since the introduction of the very first credit card. REA Card has now come considerably closer to this target with its new family of terminals, the REA T3.

All the cash cards in Europe (EMV) will be provided with a tamper-proof processor chip latest by 2011 with which card forgery will be a thing of the past. The hybrid card reader of REA T3 paves the way to reading the magnetic strip or chip in merely one step – and this of course for all important European card systems - VISA, MASTERCARD and Euro Alliance of Payment Schemes (EAPS).

In addition to the EMV Chip, non-contact payment by near field communication (NFC) will also be part of our everyday life in the foreseeable future. Thanks to the non-contact transponder (RFID) not only the cash card, but also the mobile can be used to carry out a noncash payment simply >>en passant<<. REA T3 can already today be upgraded by an NFC module.

With the new terminals of REA Card and the mobile solutions of REA Mobile REA is supplying one-stop forward-looking solutions to make the very best use of NFC technology in trade in connection with marketing measures and customer loyalty programs.
