The ECS-Retail was developed with an eye on the special requirements of chain store retail trade. The customer and operator friendly, space saving terminal solution connects the required and available hardware at the very best. The REA Card ECS-Retail is the ideal terminal for non cash payments at the Point of Sale in chain store retail trade.

In the case of ECS-Retail, the ECS-customer unit (PIN pad) is connected to the cash desk. The magnetic stripe card data is read via a magnetic stripe reader integrated in the cash desk keyboard and transmitted to the terminal.

If there is no card reader in the keyboard, the PIN pad can by supplemented by an external hybrid card reader making uniform reading possible for both magnetic stripe cards and chip cards. ECS-Retail handles the authorisation process with the network operator. Finally, the Terminal transfers the result to the cash desk. The existing cash desk printer is used to print the vouchers.
